Fort Lauderdale Dermal Fillers:
BOTOX Cosmetic Restylane Evolence Juvéderm Radiesse

Fort Lauderdale Cosmetic Facial Fillers, Dermal Fillers, and Injectable Fillers

Fort Lauderdale cosmetic surgeons offer alternatives to plastic surgery, such as instant facelift, and facelift alternatives known as 'dermal fillers' and 'injectable fillers'. Facial fillers can address natural changes in appearance that take place as we age, including wrinkles, forehead lines, frown lines between the eye brows, crow's feet, laugh lines, squint lines, and age spots. Due to the advent of innovative cosmetic procedures in the United States, it is now possible to perform lip augmentation procedures and wrinkle mitigation without surgery. Customers often have a variety of facial fillers from which to choose for any procedure, and each one offers its own benefits and features as outlined below. A qualified Fort Lauderdale doctor or dermatologist can help you decide facial filler(s) to use to achieve results closest to those that you desire. Our community partners below are doctors and technicians whose websites provide more information on specific injectable procedures as well as before and after photos of each type filler.

Injectable Filler Procedures

Botox Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale Botox

Botox Cosmetic is a brand name for the botulinum neurotoxin sold for cosmetic purposes. It is a facial injectable used by cosmetic surgeons and cosmetic technicians, usually injected into the forehead, parts of the face, and sometimes under the arms and feet for excessive sweating (known as hyperhidrosis). This non-surgical procedure's purpose is to paralyze the small muscles that cause the natural appearance of persistent facial wrinkles. Botulinum toxin has been used since the 1950s to treat illnesses arising from overactive muscles, and has just recently been approved by the FDA for use as a cosmetic agent. The Botox injection procedure takes between 10 and 20 minutes and usually do not require a recovery period. The effects of BOTOX® injections will appear within 7 days, and may last up to 6 months. There are several Fort Lauderdale Botox injection centers.

Fort Lauderdale Restylane
Fort Lauderdale Restylane Before and After

Restylane is a marketing name for hyaluronic acid, a non toxic substance that is naturally present in the human body. Restylane is a dermal filler that is used to give patients a more youthful appearance. It is commonly used to fill facial hollows around the eyes and to smooth facial folds and wrinkles in areas around the mouth. Restylane is also used for lip augmentation. The Restylane injections usually take between 15 and 30 minutes and are performed under local anesthesia. During the recovery time during the first 48 hours after treatment, you must monitor your physical activity. It is important and recommended not to rub or massage the treated areas and avoid puckering your lips until the swelling and redness have subsided. It is also recommended that you do not expose the treated areas to solar radiation or extreme temperatures. The effects of Restylane injections are immediate and last approximately 6 months. There are several Fort Lauderdale Restylane injection centers.

Dysport
Fort Lauderdale Dysport

Dysport is a treatment for facial wrinkles, fine lines, forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, frown lines and laugh lines. It is very similar to Botox; Dysport's primary ingredient is the botulinum neurotoxin, and it works by paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles just as Botox does. Dysport, however, offers several improvements over Botox for some patients: it yeilds faster and longer lasting results, patients are less likely to develop a tolerance to Dysport, which sometimes mitigates the effects of Botox. Dysport is a very new drug, which recently recieved FDA approval based in part on tests conducted by Fort Lauderdale's Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Center doctor David Goldberg.

Evolence
Fort Lauderdale Evolence Before and After

Evolence is a cosmetic filler made from collagen. It is injected into patients' faces in order to fill in natural shallow spots and wrinkles that develop as people age, and to effect lip augmentation. The injection procedure lasts between 15 minutes and an hour, and side effects of collagen injections include bruising, swelling, tenderness, and throbbing experienced near the injection areas. Allergic reactions may occur as the result of the injection of any collagen not naturally found in the human body, such as that used in Evolence. While collagen can be safely and easily synthesized or taken from other parts of the patient's own body (thereby completely eliminating the risk of complications due to allergic reactions), the makers of Evolence choose to harvest their collagen from pigs. The other cosmetic injectables discussed on this page do not contain animal-derived ingredients.

Juvéderm
Fort Lauderdale Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid product much like Restylane, but its makeup is somewhat different. Unlike other hyaluronic acids which have a rough texture to them, the chemicals used in Juvéderm give it the properties of a smoother gel-like material. It works by increasing skin volume, and fills in shallow spots on the face. Juvéderm reduces the appearance of wrinkles and other aesthetic affects that naturally occur as people age. Juvéderm can also be used as an agent in lip augmentation. It is completely non-toxic, and there is little risk of allergic reaction, but redness, itching, tenderness, and discoloration may occur shortly after the injection procedure. The injection takes about 15 minutes, and the affects last about six months.

Fort Lauderdale Radiesse
Fort Lauderdale Radiesse

Radiesse is a substance consisting of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. It acts as a facial filler, much like the products described above, by stimulating the body's own production of collagen. The product is used to fill in shallow spots on the face that appear naturally as people age. The affects of Radiesse can last more than a year.
