Juvéderm is a new form of hyaluronic acid that recieved FDA approval in June of 2006. It is injected into the skin as a cosmetic filler, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and nasolabial folds. It presents a low risk of allergic reaction and infection, and it boasts improvements over other hyaluronic acid products. It comes in the form of a smooth gel, and is longer lasting than other such products, lasting about six months before being absorbed into the body. It comes in two forms, Juvéderm Ultra for the correction of minor wrinkles, and Juvéderm Ultra Plus, for more major cosmetic alterations.
